Welcome to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Clinical Research Networks

Crohn's & Colitis Clinical Research

The mission of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (the Foundation) is to accelerate research to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to develop and promote initiatives to improve patients’ quality of life. The Foundation has established three distinct clinical research networks to address important questions that can have a positive impact on patient care and result in improved management and treatment of IBD.

The three networks include: the Clinical Research Alliance (CRA) focused on adult gastroenterology; the Pediatric Resource Organization for Kids with Inflammatory Intestinal Diseases (PRO-KIIDS) network focused on pediatric IBD; and the Surgery Research Network for IBD (SRN) focused on important clinical issues that can advance the surgical care of IBD patients.

The networks comprise major medical centers and smaller care facilities working together to prospectively conduct multi-center clinical research. The collaborative participation of centers expedites the amount of time needed to initiate approved studies, and thereby enables clinicians to study specific patient populations and/or address therapeutic-related questions more efficiently.
